Wheels of Change!

Time for change….and change #1 = new name. Its always been Niki’s Travel, but there are 2 of us now so…Morrison Travel it is.
#2 I have a work permit
#3 I now have a job! A dream Job
#4 We moving to Auckland in a week!
So lets start a little earlier. Living down in Hawkes bay has been divine. Mummy Ada and Phil have been so super patient with our stuff taking forever to arrive. And now that they have things are starting to move quickly!
Hawkes Bay is a better looking Stellenbosch (if you could ever get one) and we are sad to be leaving the beautiful views and happy people. We have made some great friends out here. For me Its definitely been the awesome people at Sustaining Hawkes Bay Trust. Which has been such a great experience and I have enjoyed so much helping and thinking and creating some awesome new stuff for them.
So it took ages to got my work permit. But now that I have, I interviewed with one the largest companies here in NZ, Fletcher Building and…I got the job. A dream job, doing all the things I love love love. But its up in Auckland so we move to Auckland this week. That makes 6 Major Moves in 22 months. Hopefully now we can settle down and put our heads down and concentrate on working hard, making some friends, walking the dog :) (or dogs if we find a nice SPCA sister for little missy-moo!)(and…a house that will accept dogs)
We have so many goals we have put ourselves forward for, and now we have the opportunity to achieve some of them!
We haven't really been getting up to to much lately…mainly because we were waiting for all my paper work to come through. But we have doing a lot of walking, because everything here is just so pretty and sparkling and green!

We also recently received our pictures from Genna; our wedding photographer who sent us the most divine images. Here is our favourite!

I will have to post our 365 Photo album at a later stage because its FILLED with awesome pictures!
So yes! Off to Auckland for us! Big change ahead! It seems everyone I know is up in Auckland. So that makes the move a little easier. We’ll be living on the South Shore – Close to Sharon (Cheryl's niece…literally like 200m away) which will be AWESOME! Because it means we have awesome fantastic people right round the corner. When I went up for the interviews with Fletchers, I stayed with them for 2 nights – I’ll tell you what, I hadn’t seen them for like 6 years – maybe even longer – but it was like we hadn’t not seen each other. It was great. It was like putting on Granny Eva’s knitted socks…its just fits.
The weather in New Zealand is probably the hardest to get used to. Coming from 3 separate hot countries…to FREEZING NZ winter was hard. But I have KINDA acclimatised. I’m not wearing my Arctic Survival Jacket everyday any more. I can now survive with a single jersey….although they  ASJ is ALWAYS within reach.
I have become pro gum boots. Pro walking. Pro organics. Pro chemical free. Pro Bicycles. Pro Dr Hauschka. :) NZ makes living healthy and recycling just SO easy. Its like its a natural order of things. Like “ok everyone – this is just how everything works – cardboard here – glass there – tins over there – bad attitudes over there” :)
I think the thing I love the most is the news. When we first arrived the biggest news in Napier was a drive-by shooting. Yeah. Violent attack on civilians. Please understand that Napier is a small town…tiny. Maybe the size of Dullstroom. So a drive by shooting is tragic….It was with a paint ball gun….hahahahaha…no one was actually hurt….at all….but it was what got all the news! I think Auckland might come with some petty crime, but then again every big city in the world does. So its to be expected that you lock your car doors (where in Napier you don't)
I look forward to updating more when we get settled in Auckland! :)
Miss everyone! Look forward to everyone's news!
Big love.
Niki and Dustin!

Silly Season!

Dear Mom;
You know how much I hate this time of year...Its coming up for my personal "New Years"...New years eve party here I come. I almost had a mini drama on my hands recently when I went for all my Medicals for my NZ visa...mom....I lost your heart Diamond that you gave me for my 21st! I spent the night sobbing and rushed back to the xray place first thing in the morning! To find out the cleaners had been through! OMG I very nearly died right there! But you know what! You were clearly having your eye out for me that day because there it was....lying on the floor! I couldnt belive it! So now it lives in the safe. Waste, because its so pretty... but I'll be happier knowing its somewhere safe!

So we arrived in NZ safe and it is GORGEOUS! I was so panicked that I would stopped at the border and frisked and turned into some criminal for no reason....clearly I've been watching to much border patrol!

Getting here was no easy ride though. After Drama's with pretty much every piece of paper work, and not working properly for most of this year, its been rather taxing, financially and emotionally. I think probably the worst is the fact that this process of moving really shows you who your real friends are and who are not. Sonja and Darren and definately Kirsten deserve medals in regards to longest lasting friends and support. Its such a pity when you see the true colours of people and how dramatised their life needs to be to make their life worth living. Its so sad and mostly i think it shows that I've grown up and those that I thought were mature...havent grown up at all and are still stuck in what i can only call the dark ages!

New Zealand on the other hand is Divine! Its green and beautiful and wonderful and so relaxed. Things just work. (For the most part) But people are willing to listen, negotiate and respond compassionately. There are still instances where people are morons, dont get me wrong....but its just so relaxed every one kinda says..."Meh"

Other than that! Things on the home front seem to be good. Married life is treating us well and our favorite thing in the world is to walk missy around! Walking has become such a great way to unwind!
I also cycle everywhere now! Fun TIMES!
Missing you so much
I will write again soon!
Love you!

Moving on and Moving Up...well down....

Dear Moomy.
I keep realising every day how much I talk about you even with out realising it. Today I was in an antique shop and I saw spoons you would love and a writing box that looked identical to yours. It was great. So awesome news! I finally got my dream job in the town I have wanted to live in now over for 2 years. I got an offer with Cadburys Dunedin in New Zealand! HOW COOL! Cadburys....awesome!
Mom, married life is great. Dustin is just to divine for words and although he drives me bonkers with his snoring (his chainsaw sounds like your snoring hacksaw!).....he makes me so happy and every day with him is superb. So yes things are moving quickly now. I just wish that i had my Thai police clearance! UUUG Its taken 6 weeks NOT to arrive so far! Unfair and infuriating!
Our house is empty, dog is about to be sent over and things are progressing. I just hope 1. I get my visa! 2. Police Clearance. 3. Some SANITY :) hahahaha
Im excited about the move to Dunedin but at the same time Im really nervous. Firstly its FLIPPING cold! and it snows there. You would have been great help with that considering you did that stint in the UK. I wish we knew what happened to Paul. So Wierd! Anywhoo. I've been missing my Merri-Moo and my little snackers a lot lately but Dust says if I behave and if we're settled in, I can get one by christmas. I would be so happy with a little smooshy puppy! Oh the happiness and it would be friends with the other baby! MISSY MOO! I also miss Dunkin that cute squirrel i had. its such a pity about his early dimise :( Again...im going off on a tangent.
So i have to start perparing for the cold! I think its going to hit me with a killer instinct! So warm packing here i come! Im not 100% sure how snow is going to feel or look but I cant wait to try! :)
It looks like I will also have to go down to NZ before Dust. So thats going to be scary but at least in NZ they speak english so if i can cope with thailand where NO english was spoken, I can do NZ! YAY YAY!
Thinking of you!
Love Always!
