Dearest Mom!
I'm Finally writing from AUSTRALIA! I have landed, registered and set up in Aus and it is a different/amazing/safe/free/wonderful/crazy/weird/familiar place! I know so many words to describe it but there are just so many emotions you feel when you live here.
Right off the bat, the first thing you notice is that its clean and beautiful! The beaches are gorgeous and clean and just so lovely.
The people are friendly and talktative and helpful. Even when I got slightly lost on the bus (which i learnt how to use with NO problems!) i followed some nice person home who used a bus stop close to the only area i know.
Brisbane City is so clean and so great and so nice and wonderful. Its old and new and quaint and filled with hussle and bustle. It reminds me of a big Melrose Arch. Actually thats exactly what it is, a big Melrose Arch with a river and the beach is 20 mins away.
You going to laugh but everyone sounds SOOOO AUSTRALIAN! Everyone uses that G'day Mate rubbish and more slang than i know what to do with. Its hard to keep up sometimes. I sometimes think i need a translator to understand what they are trying to explain to me. Words like Feed, Tucker, etc etc.....it gets a bit much!
I've Enrolled at uni and i have kinda designed my own degree with a couple of choices that arent to regular but leaves me with the most productive choices for my future and career which i think is a win win situation.....YAY for funner and my new classes! I really cant wait for the classes to start in Feb. I've gravitated towards project engineering and Health and safety as well as rehabilitation and sustainability. Im so excitied.
So now, on a lighter note, do you remember that Carman Abrahams from Boskop? Remember i was looking for her on FB a while ago, well she stumbled across me the other day. What a nice reconnection! Shes so well and shes doing a smart fancy job with Wits. Something with numbers (like you) but you know how numbers muddle my head! Hahahahahahaha.....
Well even though I'm happy here, im missing my friends in Thailand and in SA and feeling a little home sick.
But No worries Mate! Its been so great getting to spend time with my great fella Dustin. He really is great! We just connect on a level that is so special and i feel so lucky! He makes me feel so loved and wonderful!
Well thats pretty much it for Jan!
Love you very big!
Me!
Hey Nics!!!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that I'm thinking of you over there and I hope you settle down nicely :).
Don't you miss your new man though? Did you have to leave him behind?
